Bike prices

sellers have all gone mad.
Just spent an hour perusing ebay, FB market place for a small british bike as I am fed up with twist and go old mans bike.

yes they are all mad, or deluded, so called "custom" bikes in particular give rise to much mirth,well here at least.The more bits a bike is made up of,the higher the price. Daft.

It's sort of like American hot rods, which I have never understood.

Someone will take an old car, usually a restorable one, and spend >$50k turning into his personal fever dream of a teenager's fantasy ...

And then assume that it is also someone ELSE'S fantasy and ask $100k for it. I guess it must work; people keep doing it.

If I inherited one from an unknown cousin, I'd consign it for sale without even going to see it.

So I know how you feel.

That's what I've been moaning about for ages, Nek. I'd understand it if anything actually sold but it doesn't. There's endless carp bikes on all the usual places not selling.

Not only that, there's a definite shortage of bikes I'd like no matter what the price. Loads of junk or people who obviously haven't done any maintenance ever in their lives.

None of it makes any sense.
