Good weather not helping

All this fantastic weather and I'm sitting in the garden trying to mend when I would love to be out on a bike. I'm giving myself one more week and I have to go for a ride no matter how much pain. Bet it bloody rains. Oh well another beer just to relieve the pain, well that's my excuse anyway.

You are a silly young man. One rib is painful, six must be extremely painful let alone the other injuries. Give yourself the time you need, another tumble with your problems would not have good results.

Took my bike out in the sunshine. Coming back into Exmouth, someone had begun roadworks so there was a 3 mile tailback due to traffic lights. Glad i could go past all the cars on the bike. Woodbury common and most potholes are now covered

At present you have a good excuse not to do all the little domestic chores on the Old Mod's list.

If you go out on a bike you will immediately render that excuse worthless and risk unsympathetic & stern enforcement of that list until every chore is completed to her satisfaction.

Jerry has put on the roundto-it badge . I expect the Mod is helping him around the house and bringing tea and biscuits every hour. Some Mods do that.

You are so right Will, and as for conjugal rights - forget it - jumping off wardrobes is definitely a no - no!
Maybe, as this boy is hell bent on self destruction, we should organise a mass meeting, hire a van and call around to confiscate his bikes until further notice, or he comes to see sense.

With 6TDen's first comment on this. Had a mere two broken ribs many years ago, when I was a slip of a lad (40's?). Sidelined me for 6 weeks, I think. Absolutely no point in risking the healing process & going back to square one.

Me self destruction? no way but I sure couldn't go through life sitting on my arse doing nothing. I see too much of that and I sure find it depressing. My goal is to get back on a race bike mid end of May and road bike sooner. It's the only thing keeping me going through the pain barrier at the moment. I know I'm silly but I need that hope to keep me from going down....or even acting my age
