The end of an era

Me old Mum passed away quietly in her sleep this morning aged 96 after a short illness following a fall.

I was so lucky to have such a wonderful Mum with me for so long.

It has ripped my heart out.

R.I.P Mum

Probably wont be posting much for a while.

Who needs a signature anyway......

Sad news Andy but a life well lived to get that far.
My Mum died in 2017 aged 97 and had a good life too.

Off for a nice gentle bimble to some of the places she knew, goes without saying I will be extra careful.

Promised Mum that I will always take care on the bikes, so I have to.

That's very sad, Andy. I lost my dad at the same age three years ago - quite often it still feels like yesterday.

At least she had a long life and your company to help her appreciate her years.

It always seems as if part of you is gone when your mother goes.

A little verse for Mum

Was trying to write something but I came accross this one on the web, neither Mum or I were particularly religious, so the "God" in this one cna mean whatever you want if not religious - if perfectly fits how Mum was in her final weeks.

God looked around his garden, and found an empty place

He then looked down upon the earth, and saw your tired face

He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain

He knew that you would never get well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb.

So he closed your weary eyelids and said, “Peace be thine”.

It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn’t go alone.

For part of us went with you the day God called you home.

God bless you Mum
