Batteries!

Laurie, the Sprint GT's battery is only 6 years old, yet was showing a slightly low reading. Might be not enough use, so before recognising the inevitable, I put it on charge yesterday until full.
I went out to check a little earlier, just as my neighbour was going to work.
"What was that bang?" she enquired, with more than a hint of concern emmanating from and expressed by her voice.
"It's OK, I just dropped my T-shirt" I offered by way of reassurance.
"No, it sounded heavier than that?" she further pressed.
"Yes, I was in it!"
With that she muttered something dismissive and went to work.

Nothing - it was just me tripping onto my welder trolley & it rolling into an empty propane bottle that fell over.

Bought & fitted a new Yuasa from Halfords on Saturday. £75 but £44 with Trade Card. No complaints after 6 years.
Old one takes a charge and then fades to 12.5V - low enough to damage the sprag cluch on the starter.
