I had a large spider run across my living room last night. How the hell do they get in ?

Had a big one a few weeks back on the wall i hate the ruddy things I did end its life with spray and a whack with my slipper

Now that you bravely killed the spider I hope you are as active with all the things they eat. Like bugs, silver fish and moths among others. All the things that will keep you fit trying to get rid of them.

Have lots of spiders up in the Eaves of my bungalow don't touch them as they catch the fly and the birds eat the spiders

I usually catch them with a drinking glass and slide a piece of paper under before they exit into the garden.
I used to have those silverfish around the edges of a fireplace but they gradually disappeared and none now.

Spiders get free rein in my bungalow, if they can avoid the cats. Only time I've been freaked out by them was an old Victorian place I used to live in, which was home to some huge ones. Being woken up by one scuttling over your face was like something out of a horror movie.
Silverfish - aint seen them for years, but read recently they're making a comeback.

I have no problem with spiders but I did once shoo a largish one in Greece with a plastic fly swat and ended up having to tug it out of her grasp. I left her alone after that.
