More H2 woes

Starting to think this thing is jinxed.

As if having the hassle with DVLA was not bad enough, I rang Bennetts to insure it this afternoon.

Gave them the Reg No - it was not appearing in their "system", gave them the Model name - H2C, also not on their "system".

It has to be passed over to their "specialist" insurer section, and it will take them at least 48 hours to respond.

Never had this problem insuring the previous one, just seems to be one hurdle / hoop after the next.

Getting a bad feeling about this bike.

To further rub salt into the wounds a very tidy H2B came up on E Bay just a few miles away from me and for around 2K less than I paid for this one.

Usually when they appear they are miles away and way out of what I was prepared to pay for one.

Who needs a signature anyway......

The A65 Spifire i am fixing up is being a money pit and about 6500 so far. possibly a lot more than it would sell for but it will be a nice bike once running again.
Todays job was replacing the brake lever, making a bracket for the Norton style paper oil filter and fitting a new plate under the engine which allows for a drain plug. Next job is a new rear sprocket, new carbs then fit the Boyer and new 6 Volt coils.
Quite a lot more as it still has a fibreglass tank so will get a large UK style steel tank from India.
This one came from Cali but has UK registration. Unfortunately, that registration begins with GEY so it becomes the Gay bike

Andy C I think you will find its because there is a delay in getting newly registered vehicles on commercial web sites. Although the reg may appear on the DVLA web site it takes a couple of weeks or so to appear on commercial car check web sites. Try it on the AA site https://www.theaacarcheck.com/?gclid=COPNwLqg6MsCFQcUGwodvGMKGw If its not on there it probably wont show in insurers website.

That probably explains why they could find the registration for the bike, but when they searched for the model alone i.e. H2C they could not find anything either.

Who needs a signature anyway......
