Nephew accident

They switched off life support on Saturday. He had no brain activity at all so it was the right decision. 18 year old and riding just 2 weeks and made a silly decision.

Thanks boys. Having a large family, there have been 4 that did not live long. One Grandchild died on pillion about 10 years ago. Many are surviving the motorcycles well and now another 16 year old Grandson started riding a few weeks ago. I will be glad when he gets a car at 17 which is what all the others have done.
Maybe all of us older ones here have been very lucky to keep going on bikes. I would not like to be without a bike i could ride.

I think one reason some of us survived was there was much less traffic on the roads back when we started. I came off many times but was fortunate to not have these traffic conditions but was the reason I gave up motorcycles for a car as I thought I must be pushing my luck, but the love of bikes doesn’t go away easily and I came back. Draw some comfort that he died doing something he was beginning to fall in love with, however tragic it ended for him and the grief it obviously has caused those he has left behind.

That's news we hope we wouldn't hear, Geoff, so sorry for you and all your family. So young, as 6TDen says, however we were the lucky ones who managed to stay reasonably safe when traffic and road conditions were a lot more forgiving.
