I once played a cricket match representing Hornsey (Norf Lundon)) schools against the local Grammar School. They had a bowler who was an absolute killer. He should have had a licence to play. He started his run up just short of the boundary and by comparison Typhoon Tyson (look him up) would have seemed like a slow bowler. Our team were all out for 42 most of which were scored by our main bowler. I was third highest scorer and I got 2. I saw the ball leave his hand and felt the ball hit the bat, never saw it after it left his hand. The third ball again smacked the bat, where it went I had no idea. I asked the wicket keeper, he just smiled. The guy from silly mid on trotted up to me and asked if I would take a step back. I did and the ball came down exactly where I had been standing. God knows what would have happened if I had refused to move. He caught it and I was out. Never played again. Guys like that can seriously harm your health.
