Only 28 Degrees today

On Wednesday my Daughter and I had to go to a wedding in Cornwall. So drove down on Wednesday and home yesterday,

Thank heavens the venue was air conditioned. The drive down on Wednesday was tolerable, the drive back yesterday hellish.

The outside air temp gauge in the car rose to 40.5 degrees at one point, the cars air con did a good job, but when you stepped outside the car it felt like stepping into an oven.

When we got home the temperature inside the house was unbearable, and just would not dissipate, there was just no way of avoiding the heat.

Thankfully cooler this morning, but a very sweaty poor nights sleep, woken by thunder several times.

Wedding turned out to be OK despite the heat, the outside photos were a very sweaty affair.

Cant complain about Colette's old 06 Golf that I inherited, it ran perfectly with no signs of overheating.

Just hope that it really is "only" 28 degrees today as forecast.

And please can we have a cooler weekend so that I can go out on one of the bikes.

Who needs a signature anyway......

I made the foolish mistake of ordering a bookcase and a 3 drawer cupboard for my living room in flatpack also 2 aettes that had more wrapping than needed , the bloke that invented flat pac needs shooting. , also got a battery mower and strimmer , good brand , but an hour to build
the back garden looks like someone emptied a skip , i forsee two trips to the tip , it was 32 degrees in the house with all doors open

Think your heat is different to UK heat - ours is very humid and stifling.

Don't think you would be able to stick weeks of it.

Andy QLD is a sub tropical state, our humidity sometimes is 90%

We have air conditioning in the kitchen, bedrooms, and lounge room. Also two heat extractor fans on the roof.

I brought in another 16 inch fan i had in the garage normally used for cooling very large rooms. It moves a lot of air. I now have 4 running including the large ceiling fan in the front room.
25C indoors at 7am Today and there was a little rain last night. Inside the garage, it stays cool due to a lot of insulation. I am doing a little work on one bike and the garage door open gives me cover from sun. Today, its a gear oil check and change.
I hope the Cornwall lot put the cream on first with scones and strawberry jam. Some are known to get it wrong.

10 30 have a potential buyer for the bungalow so have to evacuate the house and go to a neighbour next door ..

To be honest Geoff the heat did not make me feel like eating, at the reception it was a struggle to eat the 3 course meal, and when "supper" came that was also a struggle.

Drunk more water than alcohol at the wedding which is unusual for me, but probably not a good idea getting pi**ed in this weather.

A good time was still had.

Daughter and I went outside at around 10PM to raise a glass and spare some thoughts for Colette / Mum, she would have loved to have been there, guess she was in spirit.

Lovely view from where we were out across to the coast.

I have been drinking a lot of cold drinks so not much food space left. I was in Cornwall a couple of weeks ago for Aunties funeral. Afterwards, we had some great Cornish pasties made just right.
Its a great place to rent a static caravan for a short break. I am finding the Hoseason camps to be the better ones

Authentic pasties were part of the supper, and they were bloody lovely.

We stayed at a small pub out in the sticks, nice and quiet.

Like you have been drinking a lot of H2o, all seems to leave as sweat - not much coming out anywhere else !!

just filled my car with cardboard and plastic , and been to local tip . it was hot

been to aldi got a sandwich and one of those chicken pasta things , and sausage rolls anda melton mobrey pie and 24 cans of coke

sat in house at moment , its 29 degrees

I have a large stack of pepsi max sugar free drinks. I am drinking about 6 a day plus a lot of tea.

Don't forget, fan motors also generate heat.
