Have a great 4th of July on Saturday and 250 years after taking our land. When will you be lending it back to us ?

We're having a good one already.

My kids and grandkids are here, the grandkids are out riding dirt bikes around the place, it's 101 degF, my daughter in law is fixing dinner for us tonight, and the rest of the family is coming in tomorrow for a big picnic, after which we will fire off some massively illegal fireworks (bought across the state line in Tennessee; they can't be bought here).

The UK and the USA have been pretty good buddies ever since after the War Between the States was settled with Britain supporting the South; but we've done fairly well since then....!

I forgot Martin so hope he is having a party too.
I have a nice Pewter plate celebrating the bi-centenary in 1976 hanging on the living room wall.
My visit to New Orleans 3 years ago was nice visiting the French Quarter

Thanks Geoff. Hot here but not quite as bad as what Lannis is dealing with. Should be around 30 family members here for supper at 6 and another 20+ for the enormous fireworks display at dusk.

Spending the day in a village next to the old Upper Heyford base seems appropriate to remember these two brave airman.

We have a large American memorial in our local Phear park. Often a group will hold a service there but initially it was for the twin towers. There are now a few other memorials added.
