Air Seal

Posted by calidavid User icon on July 30, 2026, 12:32 pm

Finally, after researching all the available products, put the recommended amount of this goo into my rear tyre and went for a brief ride to circulate it.
After a week, while I’ve been on a business trip, 38 degrees in Normandy yuk!, no tyre pressure loss. Before it was about 2 psi per day. Apparently the stuff does not go off so I may treat the front tyre. Yeeha!

When new tyre time comes around warn your friendly local tyre fitter there's goop in there or he may not be friendly for very long.

Nobody likes cleaning that slimey stuff off their hands, clothes, floor, tools & machinery if they aren't forewarned of its presence.

Andy, I don’t think that Air Seal has such a detrimental effect as that slime stuff. Anyway my bike mechanic advised me to get foam so he should be grateful when tyre replacement time comes along!

Doubt they will be impressed with any "goo" that is in the tyre, but as Will says at least you can forewarn them !!

Who needs a signature anyway......

I have puncture repair kit in my cars but never used it. I wonder if that is horrible muck ?
For many years they were marketing a chemical to put in a tyre so a puncture would seal up. I found it was also used on mountain bike tyres. My last puncture on a bike was about 20 years ago

An interesting video. Basically, forget aerosol cans. Too thin a compound and do not inflate above 7psi. He also says that all goo is water soluble and he washed it out between tests.

I’ve got one in the garage which I was assured would work on tubed tyres. Never had the courage to try it

Heart is great, thanks for asking. Meds to soften aged arteries seems to have done it all. Generally ticks over between 58 and 65 bpm.
I might just have to repair the wheel barrow puncture.

Thats a good tickover speed Bill. Mine is usually 62 at rest. Tablets take good care of me and so had no problems.
