Wow it sure was busy with quite a few late Friday riders struggling to park and this circuit has the biggest paddock on our calendar. We took 12 bikes and for the first time managed to squeeze them all in the marquee at night. I rode my number 1 race bike first but it does have a problem that I noticed at Brands. It will get to it's max revs 15000 but takes a long time to get there. So it was down to riding my no2 bike that was my track day bike but have now modified it to a race bike so is registered the the classic racing club. Had to bed a new front tyre in and it's a Brigestone S23. Having never used these before I was a little nervous as the last time I tried a new tyre before was my big crash last year at Mallory. Anyway after a first slowish first time out I decided to go for it and managed to better my lap time by a second so seems like I have chosen a good tyre. I also managed to get a ride in the special track session so thanks to Neil the BRT racing owner who lent me his TT2 750 Ducati I had a great ride on it. I also rode it at Brands so lucky didn't need too long to get used to riding it and managed some very fast lap times. Weather and big crowd were perfect and we had nearly 600 riders entered. The downside is Saturday had to be cut short due a rider having a big off and in a critical condition. I love my chosen sport but it can be a bit cruel sometimes. These are some of the bikes we took.
