Shopping idiots at garages

Just been out to fill my van up and have to have the pump on the left so a bit limited when getting diesel Today there were three vans and a mini bus in front of me. After waiting for nearly 15 minutes all the drivers came out one by one loaded up with shopping. For f..... sake move you vehicle off the pumps into the shopping parking area. The driver in the mini bus in front of me was the worse culprit who decided to not only unpack his shopping in the back of his van but then take his rubbish to the garage bin. He couldn't understand when I politely told him to get moved. Mind you not sure if he understood our language anyway. Rant over but fed up with selfish wankers!!!!

The ones that annoy me are the ones that after paying, get into their car and fart about with their phone for ages before pulling off.

Growing trend for a lack of consideration for anyone else, and they wonder why people get pi%%ed off.

Who needs a signature anyway......

Is it their lack of consideration or their irrefutable self-entitlement? Or are those 2 sides of the same coin, a very tarnished coin

I use supermarket filling stations. Most vehicles have done shopping before fueling so no happy shoppers at the pumps. When i fill the car, i also fill a can so i can fuel bikes at home. Works very well.

There are still a lot of fuel stations around here and it keeps them competitive. I suppose there are about 15 within 2 miles of my house and about 8 on the 10 mile drive to Exeter. Prices differ by quite a bit but Tesco is always lower than the others

And Tesco are giving away vouchers to get 5p off a litre if your shopping bill was over £50 But only at manned stations not the self serve like at many stores.

I have been known to push my bike forward away from the pump before going to pay. I've never had a car do that for me...

A pal of mine, let's call him Bernard, had his bike moved forward from the pump by the driver of a car waiting behind when he went to pay. Bernard was not a very happy chap at all about this and made his unhappiness very clear to the errant driver. 😡

I don’t think that actually helps Chaz as, if I’m right, the man won’t clear the pump until you’ve paid. The thought is good though.

Most filling stations ask you not to move the car until fuel is paid for. I like the pay at pump that is taking over now. Saves me having to go into the shop and wait around for the happy shoppers. Locally, Trago Mills sells Shell petrol at 10p a litre less than other places but there is often a line of 40 cars waiting so its not worth filling there now.

It's all pay at the pump here. Haven't seen a pump where you have to go inside to pay for years.

Occasionally someone will leave their car blocking the pump while they go in to buy their beer and lottery tickets, but that's not often.

The alarm systems treat that as drive-off! It's happened to me twice. If it's busy, I'll push the bike clear after paying & before getting kitted up.

It's a real bug-bear of mine Jerry. Happily, the two nearest filling stations to me, one is unmanned pay-at-pump only, the other doesn't sell a lot apart from milk, fags and sweets.

I now use pay at pump only so i can go in, fill and out fast. I did notice Tesco were offering vouchers but my car tank is about 35 litres and tops up about every 6 weeks as the car averages 60mpg.
Next car will be under 40mpg but not dependant on the 12 volt battery that fails a lot on the Toyota.
Tesco momentum is really good fuel for old bikes and i also use it in the new car as mpg goes a lot better on that fuel when using the Toyota Atkinson cycle engine. The 2 litre version uses less than the low powered 1.8 litre.

Garages here don`t like vehicles being moved from the pump before being paid, as sometimes they just keep going. 😡
