Being an only child and a dad that didn't spend time with me hobbies have always been my saviour. When I was young my parents took me to see my Auntie in Caterham and a local fete was on. My older cousin was flying control line model aircraft there in the demo arena. I was absolutely absorbed and new then that's was for me. I begged my parents to buy me a model aircraft kit and engine for my 11th birthday and to my surprise they did. That was the start of having a happy time and so started my new hobby. I built and flew them for many years and well into my 20's. By then motorcycles had become my no1 passion but I still enjoyed the model aircraft flying. At 15 years old I started work and by luck worked for a man called George Honnest Redliche the man credited to bring radio control to this country for model aircraft and boats. Could believe my luck building electronic equipment and surround by all types of model including the plane he flew across the English channel and also the model boat he crossed it with. Just found some old pictures of me pursuing my other hobby which I longer do but they sure were happy Daze.
A very young me on the right with an even younger work mate. Think I had just reached my 16th birthday so bikes were about to take over.
One of my competition planes that were used for control line combat flying.
Bit of compression adjustment.
