I have raced various bikes over the years and the one that gave me most wins and championships was my Spondon framed Ducati. The frame was ordered to be made by Mick Walker Ducati specialist and motor cycle bike writer in the late 70's. I bought it off a ex racer who decided to retire. At the time I didn't know I was buying quite a rare bike as Spondon only made six and mine was 001 so the very first one. Spondon were a busy building race frames so only ever made six. Saxon then took on building Ducati single frames and I was also the owner of one which we still have in the BRT race team that I ride with. As you can see in the picture the Spondon had a tubed swing arm and the chain adjustment was done moving the swinging arm back by a conical adjuster where as the Saxon had a box section swing arm and was adjusted the conventional way by moving the rear wheel as in most road bikes. Having ridden both I have to admit that they both handled fantastic although the Spondon frame was a bit lighter.

A better look at the frame.
This is the Saxon version.
Thanks to the late mad mike for this last picture.
