Planes are difficult for me now hence i pick ships from Southampton. Park up beside the ship and they carry luggage on then on return, luggage is on the dockside and just a short walk to the car. These ship holidays are stress free and relatively low cost. 14 days with balcony and all inclusive with drinks would be around 6k including the 200 pound parking charge.
There are many packages available with or without drinks but a drinks package, you would need to drink 10 drinks a day to break even.
My boy uses inside cabins for Carib 14 days at about 3.2 k but has to fly there.
Canaries from Southampton is cheap and very relaxing and if you book tours, its just get off to a coach with guide.
Check some out on cruise118 or iglu. I prefer P & O as the ships are good and low cost. Marella are better and include all drinks but cost is higher because the drinks are free.
Ignore other brans as tours costs are double for most of them.
Even the luxury Seabourn brand is a fair price with fine dining and free drinks and tours.
There are many Pensioners using ships now and often these pensioners are a bit low on money so use the inside cabins. I use balconies as i need the fresh air not just aircon fed air.
I often pay a lot less than advertised rates by getting offers daily by post and email.
3 of my boys now do cruise holidays only as they find it lower cost than hotels abroad.
