Hi Debbie. My parents and yours were good friends from 1958 when your dad and grandad Ernie Sargent did some work at my dads garage at Headless Cross. I knew John from when he was 10 I am 18months older and although our parents were friends we went to different schools. I do remember watching him play his drums in the garage at Hunt End and servicing his Ford Anglia van Jack gave him, I moved away from uk now living NZ. but was sad all those years ago to learn of his death and Michael's untimely death. It often seems surreal to me to have known such an icon well before his fame and am pleased to learn of yours and his son,s success. if ever you v isit Auckland would love to meet you again, you wee quite small last time.
