I am pissed, though that I missed her on stage, and Ann Wilson's set to, but there was nothing I could have done, unless I left at Noon from my home which as the crow flies (at 55 mph lol) is about 11/2 hours but due to NY congestion on our insufficient roadway/highways/bridges, it took me more than 2.5 hours. I am really hoping that Deborah along with her entire band, Pete, Ian, Jerry, Gerard who Paul most righteously commandeered for his Free Spirit Band / Tribute to his first major successful band FREE, which was AMAZING! (To experience live!). I was hoping that Deborah and/or Ann would join Paul or Jeff Beck on stage for a group encore or to sing together a blues number but, that didn't happen. Each artist/group performed their set individually, which was still unforgettable! It was fantastic that the weather held up during the show! I was running around looking and asking the vendors in the merchandise area, if Deborah was planning to meet and greet her fans, but they didn't know anything about it. I did pick up the remaster complete sessions of Spirit from Deborah, that was available with additional tracks that didn't appear on the first release. Would have been great to meet her, and thank her in person, for coming to NY but maybe next time!
Is there any change you'll be performing again in the Northeast, after the Star Align Tour concludes? or in the not to distant future?
I am really thinking about hopping on a jet (if I can groundage up the funds (which are very sparse these days) to get down to either Charlotte, NC (my best friend and his family just moved there), or down to West Palm Beach, which I've been to in the past but haven't been to the outdoor venue that you'll be passing through there. I have to see about getting last minute tickets for the show and for the airfare, and see if I can make it all happen. A lot of effort for getting held up in traffic in NY!
Please let us know if you'll be planning any future American or NY gigs with the complete Deborah Bonham band, even though Ian Hutton would have been cool to see jam with Deborah but I don't think it would compare to her very own and incredible band. Pete Bullick rocked the theater with his Les Paul, (Pete you definitely fit those hard to fill shoes of Paul Kossoff, and thank you for taking a few steps in them LIVE for US on this coast of the Atlantic in America!), unforgettable! You guys (the band) were all keyed in and the chemistry with Paul was dialed in! Great show! Just wish it didn't end! With all the talent that was there that evening, it could have been extended (if time allowed) to three days of incredible live music from Deborah, her band, Ann, Paul, and Jeff Beck!), A Rock n Roll Festival of Dreams!
Nothing needs to be said about Jeff's performance except there's NO One Like Jeff Beck! He brings it every freaking time he plugs in, and turns those amps on! Great to see he's still unvailing new musicians to his audience, and giving them some spotlight time, to show case what they're capable of, since he has a wide circle of influence who he performs with and continues to amaze this fan, and always will!
Thanks for the memories, and musical joy and I hope we'll cross paths again soon!
Keep kickin' out those jams and bringing joy to this shore!
Cheers!
