The Millennium Sunday Softball League registration period for new teams to join the league has been put on hold until January 15, 2013.
The reason for the hold on new team registrations is because there has already been 8 new teams who have registered for next season, bringing the league to a total of 70 teams who want to play Millennium Sunday.
The Millennium Sunday Softball League is only considering expanding from 62 teams to 70 teams for 2013, so there is no guarantee that the new teams who registered will be able to enter the league until the teams who participated in the league last year, themselves register for the 2013 season beginning in January of next year.
Just like any other league, Millennium Sunday will have teams who will not be returning next year for various reasons and that is why the new teams who have already registered will not be assured they are in the league until last years teams confirm that they will or will not be returning.
Just to put the 8 new teams who have currently registered at ease, the same process was used last year and the league ended up accommodating every new team into the league.
Note: New teams who register to play in the Millennium Sunday "A" Division or bring a softball field permit with them when they register, will be accepted into the league immediately.
In 2012 there were a record 102 teams who played Millennium Sunday softball during the Summer and Fall seasons.
And as the commissioner of those leagues, I would like to thank the players and teams for helping make the leagues such a huge success year after year.
