All bats being used in the CAPITAL DIVISION ONLY of the 2013 Millennium Sunday Softball League will be tested before use this year.
Bats will be tested via Amateur Softball Association (ASA) recommended bat compression testing equipment by District 6 Chester County Slow Pitch Player Rep. Kevin McDonald.
The tester will be available for teams to have their bats tested on the following dates at the Fields at Furey Road in Upper Chichester.
Monday, April 1st @ 6:30 p.m.
Monday, April 8th @ 6:30 p.m.
Monday, April 15th @ 6:30 p.m.
It is recommended that players who cannot make any of these dates to have their bats tested, to make sure someone on their team who can attend the bat testing is given their bats to have them tested for them.
Bats may be tested randomly during the season and most certainly will be tested prior to the start of the league playoffs, with new security stickers being placed on them.
Bats will only be allowed for use in the league if they have BOTH an ASA certification mark and a District 6 slow pitch security sticker on them after the 2nd week of the season.
The league commissioner and his designate for the bat testing will not be responsible for any questions raised concerning the approval results, but will attempt to provide information about the guidelines.
ASA Governing Body recommended equipment is being utilized to improve the safety of all participants and spectators.
No non-approved bats are to be considered as altered in any way, but merely as equipment that does not meet the ASA bat standards.
Any bat failing at any part of the testing will be deemed not allowable for play in the league.
