District 6 is announcing their District 6 Award Series for teams who will be participating in 2014 ASA of PA Advance Play.

The District 6 Award Series is the first of its kind in the ASA of PA.

Here's how the District 6 Award Series works.

Selected ASA of PA invitational tournaments will have their champions and runner-ups be part of a point system where points are given according to finishing placement and with each point being equivalent to $1.

Here's how points are awarded depending on the number of teams in the tournament.

4-5 teams = 10 points for the champion and 5 points for the runner-up

6-7 teams = 20 points for the champion and 10 points for the runner-up

8-11 teams = 30 points for the champion and 15 points for the runner-up

12+ teams = 50 points for the champion and 25 points for the runner-up

Note: If a District 6 team from a higher ASA of PA classification wins the championship game over a team with a lower ASA of PA classification, then both teams will receive the same amount of points as the champion of the tournament would have.

If a team from outside of the ASA of PA District 6 wins or is the runner-up of a tournament then the highest District 6 team(s) in order of finish will receive the points.

At the completion of the District 6 Award Series the team with the most accumulated points will receive a 50 point bonus to be used for 2014 ASA of PA Advance Play.

To qualify for the 50 point bonus a team must have participated in a minimal of three District 6 Award Series Tournaments.

This bonus will apply to the following ASA of PA classifications.

ASA of PA Class C
ASA of PA Class D-1
ASA of PA Class D-2
ASA of PA Class E

Note: All points must be used for 2014 ASA of PA Advance Play only and cannot be carried over to another year.

Points are only available to be used by teams representing District 6 in 2014 ASA of PA Advance Play.

The winner of each class will also receive a 2014 District 6 Award Series championship trophy.

6. 2014 Millennium/Bats Plus Men's Slow Pitch Early Bird Tournament

7. 2014 Memorial Day Weekend Softball Tournament

Note: Additional District 6 Award Series tournaments may be added at anytime.
