It has been brought to my attention that Tailgators (aka Slurricanes) from the Millennium Sunday A/B Division have played a player who participates in the Millennium Sunday C Division in three of their games recently.
This of course breaks the following league rule that was written as follows.
A player cannot play for more than one team in a Sunday season.
The following is the league ruling on this matter.
1. Tailgators will forfeit one game each to both Double Edge Sports Grille and J.D. McGillicuddy's Brookline Cardillo of which will be reflected in the updated standings.
2. Tailgators coach Jim Jenkins will be suspended for two league games beginning with this Sunday's doubleheader vs. Della Polla's Tavern.
3. All of the players on Tailgators will still receive credit for games played for the games that were forfeited. It is the feeling of the league that it would be unfair for the players to be penalized in this case and not receive credit for games played which could hurt their playoff eligibility, especially if they were unaware of the ineligible player, unlike the coach who must take responsibility.
4. All players on the Double Edge Sports Grille and J.D. McGillicuddy's Brookline Cardillo roster will receive game credits for the games their teams won by forfeit.
"On a side note.." The player on the Millennium Sunday C Division team who played illegally may still participate for Tailgators in this Saturday's ASA of PA Men's Slow Pitch Class "E" District 6 Championship, but only as a pick-up player.
