Joe McGilligan's two-run bomb and Zach Tanzey's clutch triple and two ribbies were the big moments for Jimmy D's in its series clincher against Colombo Lodge, 5-3.
Jimmy D's advances to the championship series of the "Dudley White" Division. The squad began Sunday morning with a convincing 11-4 triumph in Game 1, but Colombo Lodge tied the series with a 15-5 rout in Game 2, to force a rubber match.
Joe Mosco was the winning hurler in both games for Jimmy D's. In the opener, Mike Dola was 3-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs and a pair of runs scored as 10 of 12 hitters on the roster registered at least one hit.

The Stretch 5-12-15, Haggerty's Cafe 9-3-4 >> In the clincher Chris Schmidt and Tony Palladino went a combined 8-for-8 to propel The Stretch into the next round of the "Bats Plus Red" Division playoffs.
John Casella strong pitching highlighted the The Stretch's victory in Game 2 after the team dropped the opener.

J.D. McGillicuddy's Kirklyn Ducks 20-15, Briarcliffe Bar & Grill 10-4 >> Pat Lanni was 7-for-8 with six runs scored in the series for the Ducks, who pounded Briarcliffe on their way to the next round of the Bats Plus Red Division.
Rick Brennecke smashed two homers in the first game and Joe Carlie launched two bombs in Game 2. Sean Fitzgerald crossed the plate eight times on the day.

Ram's Pizza Tavern 12-8, Tri-State Liquors 8-2 >> Tim McKim ripped a two-run double and Sean Ryan finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs in the opener. The second game belonged to Dave Smith (two-run homer) and Steve Zarzycki (two-RBI double) as they helped close out the sweep and advance their team to the American/National "B" Division championship.

Stinger's Restaurant and Bar 10-19, Lebano's Catering & Deli 0-5 >> Stingers breezed past its opponent and is moving on to the "C" Division title round. Mike Moritz swung a hot bat on the day, going 3-for-4 with a three-run round tripper in Game 2. Andrew McMahon was beneficiary of plenty of offense.

Della Polla's Tavern 10-13, Murray's Bar & Grille 6-5 >> Jay "Wyoming" Gramlick and "Big Tuna" Mike Bucella each collected six hits over two games for Della Pollas, which gets to play Stingers for the "C" Division crown next Sunday.
Bucella cracked two homers and knocked in six runs, while Gramlick enjoyed a four-RBI day. Rob Bengi was the winning pitcher for both games.
Leon "Happy Feat" Hosier came through with a big knock in Game 2, turning a single into a two-bagger while driving home a run.

R.P. McMurphy's Bar & Grille 4-13-12, Maggie's Irish Pub II 7-2-2 >> R.P.'s bounced back from a Game 1 loss, outscoring Maggie's, 25-4, in the final two contests. Warren Blessing posted a .750 average and five RBIs, Josiah Krawiec coupled fine glove work with seven ribbies at the dish, and Sean Matthews scored seven runs and played stupendous defense.
Justin DiValerio was the table setter for R.P.'s, going 8-for-11 from the leadoff spot. Ron Mitnick won the battle of attrition on the mound, overcoming brutal heat to pitch all three games.

Stanley Kup Inn 11-12, Jimmy Mac's Wolfpack 4-5 >> In a "DeMarini Blue" quarterfinal series, Johnny McShane powered Kup with a strong Game 1 performance. McShane finished with three hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Jim Sullivan wielded a hot bat in the closer, going 3-for-4 while scoring twice.

Casey's Crew 11-18, J.D. McGillicuddy's Tinicum 7-8 >> What a day for ol' Ron "Pop Pop" Sapp, who was 5-for-7 with three homers to lead Casey's Crew to a sweep in the "DeMarini Blue" quarterfinals.
In the opener, Tommy Thompson chipped in a double and a dinger. Dylan Stafford was 5-for-5 with the go-ahead RBI in the second contest. Mike Palladino and Jack Plant helped out with three hits apiece.

Gators 22-14, Data Troop 7-7 >> Justin Mercer and Kevin Potter had it going on for the Gators in a "DeMarini Blue" quarterfinal-round sweep.
Mercer and Potter combined to go 17-for-18 in the two games. They teamed up to turn three double plays in the opener and continued their stellar defense in the nightcap.
Cody Diamicis (6-for-9) also helped the Gators take a bite out of Data Troop, and Eric Stankiewicz survived the heat to earn both W's from the circle.
