Daily Times: Millennium Sunday Playoff Roundup - Duffy's walk-off bomb sets tone for Stingers
The way Joe Duffy's Sunday started, you had the feeling it would be a good day for Stingers.
Duffy hit a walk-off two-run homer to lead Stinger's Restaurant and Bar to a 9-8 win over Della Polla's Tavern in Game 1, then paced a torrid offensive performance in a 19-12 drubbing in Game 2 as Stingers swept to the Millennium Sunday League "C" Division championship.
Mike Moritz and Chuck Pasquale belted a pair of homers each in the opener. Pat McGinnis and Anthony Lusi contributed to the offensive barrage in the finale.

In the "A" Division American/National Championship Series:
Krohmer Mortgage picked itself off the mat after being leveled by Upland A.C., 17-7, in Game 1 of its championship series to rally for the title with wins of 15-5 and 13-2.
Bobby Jones quieted the Upland bats in the final two contests and let his offense get to work.
Chris Warner launched two home runs in Game 2, while Sean Timmons and Jay Dougherty kept the offensive carousel moving.
Chris Zizza broke the finale open with a pivotal home run.

In the "D" Division Championship Series:
Adam Mechanical turned into hit machines, sweeping the championship series over R.P. McMurphy's Bar & Grille, 13-8 and 19-9.
Greg Havink went 2-for-3 with two doubles in Game 1. In Game 2, Dominic Masciarelli's three-run homer and two-run triple set the tone. Pat Hamill added two hits and two RBIs.

In the "Dudley White" Division Championship Series:
Jimmy D's used the pitching of Joe Mosco to leave the Burgundy Lounge Punishers red-faced and edge its way to a trophy, 10-9 and 8-5.
John Burgos, Joe McGilligan, Brian McCulley and team MVP Zack Tanzey did the lion's share of the offensive damage.

In the "Bats Plus Red" Division Semifinals:
It'll be an all J.D. McGillicuddy's final in this division.
J.D. McGillicuddy's Kirklyn Ducks will play for its third title in four years after sweeping Casey's Saloon Ridley Park 12-2 and 17-4, in their semifinal series.
John McKenna provided three hits in the opener, while he and Matt Strumm drove in two runs apiece. Frank Lanni went yard in the nightcap, and Matt Rooney scored three times for the Ducks.
They'll face J.D. McGillicuddy's Brookline, which slipped by The Stretch, 11-8 and 23-20, in the other semi. Bill Masterson went 4-for-4 in the opener, and Nick Tokonitz belted a three-run homer as the Brookline boys twice fought back from deficits.
Frank Magee won both games, making the second interesting after Brookline ran out to a 16-3 lead but saw The Stretch cut its deficit to two runs. Magee helped his case with three hits, and Joey Vassallo hit a momentum-shifting three-run homer.

In the "DeMarini Blue" American/National Division Semifinals:
Lee Raech Jewelers ran past Casey's Crew, 8-2 and 13-8, in the semifinal series.
Mike Komorowski and winning pitcher Mike Labuski combined to go 6-for-6 at the dish, and Andrew Tully and Ant DiGalbo Jr. chipped in two hits apiece in the opener.
DiGalbo went 3-for-4 and finished a single shy of the cycle in the nightcap, belting a three-run homer, scoring twice and driving in four. Christian DiGalbo went 4-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs in support of winning pitcher Ant DiGalbo Sr., while Matt Roland's defense constituted the rare non-DiGalbo highlight.
The Jewelers will meet Stanley Kup Inn in the championship series after the Kup kruised past Gators, 16-11 and 14-6. Marty Farrelly and Ryan Fagioli combined to go 6-for-8 at the plate, while Jim Sullivan's three-run home run proved vital in Game 1.
