Daily Times Sports: Meeting set Monday for teams in Women's ASA Charity Softball Classic
A meeting for teams entering the 2015 Women's ASA Charity Softball Classic will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Belvedere Room of Barnaby's of Ridley Township.
Final approval of rules revisions for the tournament, which begins Friday night at Father Nall Field on MacDade Boulevard in Ridley Township, will be on the agenda, as well as an overview of the types of fundraising that will be used to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
The tournament continues Saturday and the championship will be decided Sunday.
Among the District 6 staff working the tournament are tournament director Brenda Smerigan and fundraising directors Joe Organek and Wendy Zorrer. Jim Egan is assigning the umpires, and Bob Dukes and Bernadette Murphy are the umpires-in-chief, under the direction of District 6 umpire-in-chief Sonny Pompilii.
Scott Heywood and Mickey McLaughlin will be the field supervisors.
Several raffles will be held and T-shirts will be sold to help raise funds for the American Cancer Society.
