The Millennium Sunday Softball League has to re-invent itself every year, and sometimes it has to re-invent itself twice in one week!
But that's what keeps us as the biggest and best-run men's slow pitch league in the state.
After some conversation, we've had to make a minor tweak to what was posted a few days ago to keep everything level and fair.
So here's what's going to happen.
In the Millennium "A" Division:
There will be 8 teams. Each team will play 18 games (9 weeks).
These teams will play each division opponent once (7 weeks).
The other TWO weeks will be "Knock Down" weeks.
Those games will be played in Week 5 and Week 9.
In week 5 the games will be 1st place vs. 2nd place, 3rd place vs. 4th place, 5th place vs. 6th place, 7th place vs. 8th place.
In Week 9, they will be the same with one exception - Two teams who played each other in Knock Down week 5 can not also play each other in Knock Down Week 9.
In this case, teams will flip flop with the tier below them. So for example, if the teams that are is 1st and 2nd place in Week 5 are also the teams in 1st and 2nd place in Week 9, the first place team will instead play the third place team and the 2nd place team will instead play the fourth place team.
In the end, 6 of the 8 teams in the division will make the playoffs. The top two teams will get a bye to the semifinals with teams 3-6 playing in the quarterfinals. The No. 1 seed will face the lowest remaining seed in the semis and the No. 2 seed will face the highest remaining seed in the semis.
