If you team gets the opportunity to play on the Furey Rd Fields this season below are the ground rules to be used by all teams for this field. First, however, I would like to make one thing very clear to all teams. When you arrive at the field the bases are set to 60ft. There is a place to position the bases at 65ft, which is league play distance and 70ft. After finishing your games the teams are responsible for putting the bases back to 60ft.
Any teams who fail to put the bases back to 60ft after their games will be fined $25 each payable to the American Cancer Society and it must be paid prior to the next weekends games or they will be removed from the schedule.
Below are the ground rules for Furey Rd:
1. Any ball that clears the fence in right center or lands on the street without touching the ground first is deemed a homerun
2. Any ball hit to Leftfield, up to the end of the fence in right center, is all you can get
3, Any ball hit to Rightfield on the ground, from the end of the fence to foul territory, if it makes it to the road it is a ground rule double
4. There is no homerun limit at the Furey Rd field
5. Deadball territory is from the foul line to the fence line on both the right and left field lines, this is for safety of all players.
6. All other ASA rules and league bylaws apply
There is a possibility the township will be adding a net in right field during the season. When that happens the ground rules will be adjusted.
If anyone has any questions about this please reach out to me.
Thanks
Andrew Ruhf
