Daily Times: Millennium Sunday Roundup - Shanko Landscaping explodes on opening weekend
After a winter of waiting, the Shanko Landscaping bats were positively busting out of their bags Sunday.
Shanko smoked Diablos Smokehouse, 36-2 and 28-8, in the C Division on the opening weekend of the Millennium Sunday Softball League season.
Doug Schreiber homered in both games of the double dip. He was joined in the first game by Conner Price, Nick Opdenaker, Kevin Case and Phil Cash, the latter two of whom were also 4-for-4 at the dish.
Matt Harris went 4-for-4 in Game 2, while Sean Wyatt went 3-for-3 with a homer in support of winning pitcher Bruce Shanko.

J.D. McGillicuddy's Kirklyn Ducks 19-23, J.D. McGillicuddy's Brookline 16-24 >> Nothing much was settled in the Cuddys battle that also decided the D division title last year.
Joe Carlile drove in eight runs with three homers, and Joe Kerley went 5-for-7 while pitching both games for the Ducks. Mike Shtofman added four hits and four RBIs.
Brookline earned revenge when Frankie Magee plated the game-winning run in the bottom of the eight and earned the win on the hill. Chris Pastella clubbed a three-run homer.

Liver Let Die 25-25, Stanley Kup Inn 24-26 >> C.J. Fredericks produced an ending as good as the E division team's name in Game 1 with a walk-off grand slam. Tim Brown and Sean Cawley collected four hits each, while Brown drove in six runs and Cawley four.
Stanley Cup avenged that loss thanks to four hits and six RBIs from Greg D'Alonso and four hits, four runs, four RBIs and two homers from Mike Ford.

Upland A.C. 19-20, Miller's Ale House Heavy Hitters 12-5 >> Mark Adkins made sure the Hitters didn't live up to their names by winning both games.
Joey Kelly was 9-for-9 on the day with 11 RBIs and six runs scored. Brian Leon had four hits and four RBIs, and Andy Ruhf went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs in an A/B American game.

The Knights got revenge thanks to the Komorowskis, Ken (4-for-4, 4 doubles, 4 RBIs) and Mike (3 hits, 4 runs, 4 RBIs, winning pitcher). Clem Reed also added four hits and two RBIs.

The Stretch won game 1 thanks to homers by Anthony DiGregorio and Ryan Blackmore, but it was too much of a stretch for anyone to write down the score.
