Daily Times: Millennium Sunday Roundup - Whalen wailin' the ball for Barnaby's/Moran Electric
On a seasonably cool afternoon, Andrew Whalen came out scorching hot to begin the season, going 4-for-5 with two home runs and seven RBIs to help Barnaby's of Ridley/Moran Electric trounce Premier Orthopedic, 21-12, in the second game of their Millennium Sunday doubleheader.
Whalen was also the winning pitcher in Game 2 while Mark Medzic helped out his pitcher's cause going 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs.
In Barnaby's 13-3 Game 1 victory, Dave Foster went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and Brian Bellocchio added three hits, including a home run and three RBIs.

J.D. McGillicuddy's Brookline 8-7, Hunt's Raiders 6-6 >> Jim Stilwell singled and Mike Bains scored the game-winning run after the Raiders committed two errors to give J.D. McGillicuddy's the walkoff win in Game 2. Nick Tokonitz had three RBIs in Game 1 and Frankie Magee picked up both wins on the mound.

The Stretch 10-12, Ram's Head Tavern 6-4 >> Devin Mossor, Tom Lacey and Greg Garrity led The Stretch on a six-run rally in the fifth to capture Game 1. Steve Mullin was the winning pitcher in Game 2 and helped his cause with a three-run shot.

Shanko Landscaping 16, Barnaby's of Aston 6 >> Matt Harris led the way with four hits and four runs scored while Phil Mariani added a three-run homer with three runs scored of his own for Shanko Landscaping. Sean Wyatt and Adam Schreiber also chipped in with three hits and three runs apiece while Bruce Shanko claimed the opening day victory. No score or stats were reported for the other game.
