Daily Times: Millennium Sunday Roundup - Despite bad weather, softball is under way
It was cold and damp Sunday, not exactly ideal weather for the Millennium Softball League to kick off its 2018 season.
The nasty weather, though, did not prevent opening day from taking place.
The less-than-ideal conditions did not bother Miller's Ale House HH in an 18-16 and 21-11 twin killing of Printz Beverage.
Sean Ryan went 7-for-8 on the day with three doubles. Mike "Tuna" Buchella was 4-for-4 with five RBIs in the opener. Winning pitcher Domenic D’angelo added three hits and three RBIs.
Mike Boyle helped invoke the mercy rule in the nightcap with a 6-for-7 effort that included six RBIs. Mike Ianeri was 5-for-7 with two dingers and six ribbies and winning pitcher Steve Sakers slapped three singles.
