Daily Times: Millennium Sunday Roundup - Bombers timely scoring makes for electric finish
The Galle Electric Bombers proved it could win a close game Sunday, even when the bats got charged up in Game 2.
The Bombers used five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning of Game 2, capped by a walk-off hit by Bill Dougherty, to top Marty Magee's Weekend Warriors, 25-24, in the Millennium Sunday League C Division.
The Bombers opened with a 7-3 win. Brad Yori and Scott Abdo set the tone with 4-for-4 days, and Dougherty got the win. He was on the mound in Game 2 as the Warriors' bats erupted. But Galle responded. Jimmy Gavin went 4-for-4. John Galle (three-run triple) and Tom Rizzietello (two-run home run) each went 3-for-4.

Cocco's Pizzeria & Pub of Aston 14-17, Stephen's on State 13-16 >> Cocco's left their two wins in the oven a little longer, needing extra innings twice in the A/B American Division. Jimmy Butz went 5-for-5 in the opener, including the game-winning dribbler, and Dave Staffi went 4-for-5. Eric Price (4-for-5) scored the winning run in the 10th inning of the second game, and Shaun Green also went 4-for-5.

J.D. McGillicuddy's Brookline 18-25, Oakmont Pub 15-15 >> McGillicuddy's won the D/E American Division battle for Havertown thanks to two outings by Frankie Magee, who also went 8-for-9. Chris Hoffman and Steve Prescott had four hits each, and Mike Bains added three hits in an extra-inning victory in Game 1 after being down by seven. Bains added four hits in the nightcap, while Mike Melazzo, Jeff Wahner and Eddie Kapusta were each 3-for-4.
