The Millennium Sunday Softball League has always and will continue to follow the USA Softball rulebook pertaining to the following.
Teams MUST have nine (9) players to start a game.
When a team is batting nine (9) the 10th spot in the batting order will be automatic out.
A 10th player can be added at anytime and must report to the umpire when entering the game and be inserted in the 10th spot in the
batting order.
Note: If a team does not want to add a 10th player if one arrives, then that player becomes ineligible for the remainder of the game.
If a team drops to 8 players during the game, then the game is ended.
Note: Teams should never ask the umpire to see if the opposing team would be okay with the 10th position in the batting order not being a out.
The opposing team should never be put in this position and if the umpire does not enforce that the 10th spot in the batting order is an out when teams are batting nine (9) players then the opposing team should protest the game and the protest will be upheld.
