It's "Groundhog Day" once again for the Millennium Sunday Softball League after the league's schedule of games have been postponed due to inclement weather on back-to-back weekends.
With the weather forecast calling for even more rain tomorrow morning and turning heavier going into the afternoon, there is no window of opportunity to somehow get the games played, especially when you factor in the pooling of water that many fields currently have on them.
I did mention that maybe the league could play a Mother's Day schedule for the first time ever, but there was some immediate and understandable pushback from a few teams that ended that thought.
If the teams didn't do such a great job on getting their fields ready and playing on April 2nd (Opening Day) we would be facing a more dire situation of getting the league going this season.
The league will give it another go next Sunday, May 7th - with the Week 3 schedule remaining the same.
