It's "Groundhog Day" once again for the Millennium Sunday Softball League after the league's schedule of games have been postponed due to inclement weather on back-to-back weekends.
With the weather forecast calling for overnight rain into the early morning there is no window of opportunity to somehow get the games played, especially when you factor in the recent reports from teams of the pooling of water that many fields currently have on them.
I did mention that maybe the league could possibly play a Mother's Day schedule for the first time ever, but there was some immediate and understandable pushback from a few teams, along with umpire availability that ended that thought.
The league will give it another go next Sunday, May 3rd with a "New" Week 2 schedule - moving on from what seems like the jinxed schedule we are stuck on - which still will be played later in the year.
Everyone can now better enjoy the Flyers playoff game without having to be concerned about playing softball tomorrow.
Thanks to the teams and umpires who contacted me in helping me make the decision to postponed the games.
