***SHOT AT MID-ATLANTIC HWT. TITLE UP FOR GRABS! CWF Mid-Atlantic returns to the Carolina Sports Arena in Burlington, NC this Saturday, February 18th, with a 7:30pm belltime. This is a full card of great action! All bouts are sanctioned by the AWA, the American Wrestling Association. Wrestling is about opportunities. While some wrestlers patiently work their way up through the contenders, others prefer to make their own opportunities. That's exactly what happened two weeks ago in a special six-man bout taped for televison. AWA Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion "Slick Diddy" Ric Converse teamed with Joey Silvia and Xisirs to face Marcellus King, Brandon Day, and "Tornado" Tony Kozina. All three hungry challengers decided this was the night to make a point and create an opportunity. After the win all three demanded a heavyweight title shot against Ric Converse, even though Converse was not pinned in the bout. Converse reaffirmed that he is ready, willing, and able to defend the title against anyone in the AWA. Comissioner Cross then gave the trio the words they were wanting to hear. He was ordering a rematch in two weeks and if they won again, the person who scored the deciding fall would earn a future title bout against Converse. However later in the week after reviewing the footage from the match, Commissioner Cross noticed that the competitors had stepped across the boundries laid out for everyone in the CWF Mid-Atlantic. Xsiris was pinned after an illegal piledriver on top of a metal chair that had been placed into the ring by Tony Kozina. While the referee's decision is final, Cross determined there would be reprecussions for such actions. Otherwise, these kinds of actions will only spiral into an uncontrollable environment for those that do adhere to the rules and regulations. With Xsiris injured from the piledriver on the chair, he informed Commissioner Cross that he didn't think he would be able to compete this weekend, althougth he did state he would be at the Carolina Sports Arena and would like to address the fans. Commissioner Cross then decided to suspend Tony Kozina for this weekend and changed the sixman rematch to a tag team encounter. Now Ric Converse & Joey Silvia will face Marcellus King & Brandon Day with a future AWA Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Title bout hangs in the balance! Michael McAllister has been unusually quiet for the past few weeks. We knew it was too good to be true as he phoned in his comments to be included in this week's newsletter. "I want everyone to know that now that I have gotten rid of the Gemini Kid forever, it's time to do the same to Jesse Ortega. You see my time in the AWA office provided me a multitude of contacts. This weekend I'm bringing in two people that would love to get rid of Ortega. I don't think Ortega has any friends left with Gemini Kid gone, so good luck finding a partner chump," McAllister berated us. "I'm bringing in one of the AWA's premier light heavyweights, Noah Lott. And also one of the AWA's most dangerous men, he's carrying on the legacy of his father, The Cuban Assassin!" After these comments McAllister was informed that he had a match this weekend too. His name was selected to face the current Mid-Atlantic Television Champion, Rob "Boogie Woogie Man" McBride. McAllister responded, "This has got to be the greatest weekend of my life! Gemini Kid is gone. Jesse Ortega will be joining him this Saturday. And now I'm going to whip that disgrace McBride and become the new TV Champ! Does it get any better than this?" McAllister will have to defeat one of the most popular wrestlers in the Mid-Atlantic territory in under 10-minutes to make that claim. Speaking of the TV Champion, Rob "Boogie Woogie Man" McBride just got back from spending some time with "his daddy" Jimmy Valiant as he showed the original Boogie Man the title belt as they partied with "his peoples." Footage of this unique visit will be shown in the next week's television program. Commissioner Cross noted that while McAllister has indeed invited two AWA wrestlers to attend, that Cross himself is also pleased to announce that he is also bringing in another AWA talent. "As a proud member of the American Wrestling Association, we do our best to insure our wrestlers compete throughout the Association. In turn we also try to bring in wrestlers from other territories as well. This week we'll also have Flex Tolley from AWA-Apex. He's made quite a name for himself in West Virginia and we look forward to seeing him do the same here in the Mid-Atlantic." All this and so much more including the new AWA Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champions Garry "Madd Trucker" Stevens & "A Very Handsome Man" Mitch Connor, Rising Generation League Champion Ultra Dragon, The $outh$ide Playas, Brass Munkey, Scotty Blaze, Fatback Enterprises (Mikael Yamaha, Donnie Dollar$ and manager Brad "Fatback" Stutts), The Street Sweepers (Gregory Vercetti & Jay Sinn), The United Nations of Devastation (Drake Tungsten & Bad News Johnson), Tank Lawson with manager Cornelus J. Lumpkin III, and more!!! Don't you dare miss it!!! Link: indyinsiders.com www.IndyInsiders.Com
