CWF Mid-Atlantic returns to the Carolina Sports Arena in Burlington, NC this Saturday, March 25th, with a 7:30pm belltime. This is a full card of great action! All bouts are sanctioned by the AWA, the American Wrestling Association. Ric Converse had worked harder than ever over the past year to reclaim the AWA Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Championship and also work his way to be the top contender to the AWA World Heavyweight Title. But along the way, many of his "friends" became jealous of his success. Now Ric Converse finds himself the main target of a collection of former friends including Joey Silvia, Trent Wlyde, and newest addition "Simply" Steve Greene, the former American Steel Ninja. In anticipation of this week's huge TV Taping, fans have been questioning, "Who will be the next to stab Converse in the back?" Many point the finger to another "friend" in the high-flying Xsiris. Just two weeks ago, when the Dynasty II attacked Converse, Xsiris was no where to be found. In the locker room Convese openly questioned whether he would be the next to drive a knife in his back. Xsiris wasn't there to answer the question, though, but Converse will be looking for answers from him this weekend. Unfortunately with all the confusion and collusion going on, the AWA Mid-Atlantic Title that Converse has worked so hard for, was on the verge of being lost to challenger Marcellus King. Converse ended up losing his match to King via countout however the title can only change hands via pinfall or submission. The victory propels King to the #1 contenders position, however King has other ideas. He spoke briefly with us tonight, "To prove I'm a fighting champion, I'm going to give Ric Converse a rematch for my title this Saturday night. That's right I am the Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion and I've got the belt to prove it." When informed that he didn't win the belt, King rebuffed us and responded, "Posession is nine tenths of the law, and I have posession of the belt, therefore I am the legal and rightful champion. Converse will get his rematch, but the outcome with be the same. Marcellus King will be your champion." Marcellus King crowned himself the new champion with his countout victory and during the melee that ensued after the bout, King grabbed the title belt and left with it. Commissioner Cross has attempted to get the belt back but King has insisted that he is the champion and will bring it back around his waist this Saturday night. You can be assured that the championship will be in the hands of the winner of this Saturday's rematch between the authentic Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion, "Slick Diddy" Ric Converse, and the challenger, Marcellus King. A very frustrated Ric Converse commented, "I don't know what's going on. I get jumped by yet another friend, during my title defense, and there goes Marcellus with my belt and now he thinks he's the champ? Let me make myself clear. I'm the champ. I'm the King of the Mid-Atlantic. This Saturday night I'm focused and ready. Marcellus King, don't forget the belt because it's going home with the real champ. It's time you found out that Slick Diddy runs this city!" Commissioner Cross has also ordered two special tag team encounters. The reigning tag champions, Garry "Madd Trucker" Stevens & "A Very Handsome Man" Mitch Connor, have refused to give former champions The $outh$ide Playas a return match until they defeat their handpicked #1 contenders. This Saturday the Playas will get their chance to earn that return match as they face The Street Sweepers. Cross also noted that the tag champs will be forced to defend their titles as well this weekend against a very special tag team. All this and so much more including the Mid-Atlantic TV Champion Rob "Boogie Woogie Man" McBride, RGL Champion Ultra Dragon, Otto Schwanz, Jesse Ortega, Brass Munkey, Xsiris, "Rock 'n' Roll" Matty Dee, Roy Wilkins, Caprice "Ice" Coleman, Joey Silvia, Trent Wylde, Julius Augustus, Tank Lawson with manager Cornelius J. Lumpkin III, Michael McAllister, and many more! PLUS DON'T MISS a long anticipated, special return of a CWF superstar! You gotta be there! Don't you dare miss it!!!
