Just like to take a minute to say thanks for setting up the meeting on Saturday.
It was great to see so many faces at the class of 67 section with five (5) 427 Impalas in a row!! What a sight, it went off great.
I personally would like to thank each and every one who stopped by to say HI and wish me luck with my 67 Impala. When four (4) judges showed up Saturday to look over my car I just about died with fright but with Ron.M being one of them I knew it was being checked by one of the best.
The car received a gold with a score of 995 out of a possible 1,000 points. I was in shock to say the least. I feel I have been blessed with good friends (some from this site) and family who helped me through the restoration that took several years.
For the guys who couldn't make it I have to share this with you-
One of the highlight's this past weekend occurred Friday afternoon when Jason Line, NHRA pro stock driver and National Champion for Summit picked my car as his favorite.
When Jason and his wife were looking at my car I didn't even recognize him because he always had a helmet on when I saw him. About an hour after he left from looking at my car I got a call on my cell telling me to report to the main office right away. I told the women on the phone that when I was in High School this was not a good thing. I asked if I was getting thrown out of the show?
She just started laughing and said no that its going to be good.
When I walked in the office Jason was standing there and gave me the trophy and a sign signed by him to put on my car saying he selected it as his pick. I was shocked since there were 570 cars there that he could have picked from.
In summary thanks to all who stopped by, I hope we can all meet again this summer at the Nationals in Dayton.
Happy Thanks Giving and a Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Ron.H
