Have a question maybe someone may have suggestions for, purchased Hood and Hood ornament back in Oct 2016, it's been hanging from my garage ceiling for till Feb of this year, but first thing I did when I got these items was sent the ornament (or what ever your choice of words are)... I sent it off and had it re-chromed, it came out great! stuck it in the back of my closet, and just dug it out last week, My question is, has anyone ever painted an insert, or something that has been chromed, it appears this could be a lengthy process, and I'm ok with that, any suggestions of chrome prep for painting, one tech sheet from SEM products says to sand with 400 grit sandpaper, clean it, mask it with a wax and great type remover, mask it and paint, I don't want to do this twice, the company that chromed it, did not want to paint it, and really had not offering of how to.
Surely someone has done exactly this, or something similar or know of a web site, this has been a long time coming making a clone SS427 or re-creation (or what ever you want to call it) any help or suggestions will do.
