Bill. When We inspected cars in PA. ; the AS1 needed to be on the windshield. The date and manufacture is not relevant as long as it is laminated and the glass is clear. I purchased a windshield from Hubbard Impala with the AS1 code on the right side which was made in China. My original windshield was a PPG, My 70 was a LOF. It should not matter, unless it is an original or it was replaced by a factory glass. NICK L72
