My first 69 SS I had was in approx 1975. I hit a pheasant and broke the grille. The Chevy parts dept said an SS grille wasn't available, the fix was a Caprice grill and I believe .8
hrs body shop time to paint. I cant remember the details, but I ended up with the grille painted with the black, looked good.
