Hi All, As we all know, the popular Chevrolet rally wheel came out in 1967. And for 1967, the "flat cap" was used. There are two center cap "ornaments": 1) "Chevrolet Motor Division" 2) "Chevrolet Motor Division - Disc Brakes" Here is my question: Why are there 2 different ornaments for these flat caps?Denis 1967 Impala SS Sport Coupe 396/TH400/12 bolt. There weren't. The "Motor Division" caps were wire wheel center caps. The ONLY way you could get Rally wheels in 1967 was as part of the Disc brake option, so all TRUE flat caps would say "Chevrolet Motor Division - Disc Brakes". The "Disc Brake" center ornament went disco many years ago and are coveted by the 67 Vette folks. Most others, especially folks just adding the wheels to a non disc brake car, would just purchase the "Motor Division" caps as they were, or are, available.
Thanks, Donny. What you stated about the 67's only getting rally wheels with the disc brake option is what I always believed, which why the wire wheel center ornament (now I know that!) install on the rally wheel center cap didn't make sense to me.
