'68 SS427?

Didn't know if you guys had seen this one. I'm not an expert by any means, but there seems to be quite a few problems with this car. Maybe it should be posted as a 327 car cloned into an SS427? See ya down the road. Gregg

There is NOTHING about this car that is SS427 except 3 badges. This guy is falsely advertising this car and if I could flag the listing I would. Don S

He doesn't state that it's a real SS427. In fact he states that the badges were added. The info he added at the bottom was from me after he did some checking.

Don S is correct, this car is falsely advertised.
He states twice in the heading and once again in the very first sentence of his description that it is a “1968 Chevrolet Impala SS427”
It’s incomprehensible that anyone should imply that he doesn’t say it’s a SS427 when he clearly does, over and over again, three times to be exact.
And anyone that wants to pussy around with semantics and suggest that the rest of the description makes it OK to mislead with a false heading is way off the mark … Cheers Glenn

The description starts out as "1968 Chevrolet Impala SS427 Convertible. Original 396 Big Block Car with added SS427 options. Comes with original 396 Fender badges." So while he does say SS427 right away, he also clarifies it pretty quickly. As I mentioned, he then found out it was a 327 originally with my help. He tried to edit the description (and auction title) but he couldn't since there were already bids so he added that bit at the bottom. Not ideal but he was doing the best he could.

I wouldn't have put "SS427" in the title to begin with but it would have to have been mentioned somewhere in the description since it has the emblems added.

That's one of the issues I have with Ebay. Once you have a bid, no editing. I understand their reasoning for that policy, but they also have to understand that descriptions may need to be edited due to new information. Gregg

Gregg , you can edit , its just a separate paragraph below the original. But I understand what your saying , would be nice to be able to get to the title and original paragraph

Just for clarification, I wasn't trying to call this guy out, it looks like Warren has been helping him out. I appreciate that. I just think we have to do all we can to preserve the hobby we love. I'm thinking the seller didn't do anything sneaky on purpose. In some cases, people just don't know what they really have. See ya down the road! Gregg
