Hi All, I'm sure this question has been asked before. There were two sizes of Rally Wheels in 1967 available for the full-size line when disc brakes were ordered: - 15x5 - code "DB". - 15x6 - code "DC". What size tire were standard from the factory on these wheels? Were there optional sizes available? If so, what sizes? Thanks and have a great weekend! The 15x5 wheels would be used on non-wagon, non Wide Oval tire equipped cars. Tire size using the old designation from 1967 would have been 8.15-15.
15x6 would have been used on wagons with 8.45-15 tires or on non wagons with G70-15 tires.
You also could have specified the 6" wide rim on cars that would have had the 5" wide rims by default by specifying RPO P42 (15x6). RPO P12 was an upgrade to 14x6 on drum brake cars that would have used 14x5 wheels by default.
Thanks, Cameron! This is exactly the infomation I was looking for. This is for my 1967 Impala SS convertible w/327. Right now, I have 15x8 on the rear and 15x7 on the front w/BFGs all around, but I want to go to more of a stock look. The 15x5 or 15x6 are my choices. I want get the new Coker Wide=Oval, Bias-look radial tires in the G7015 size, so I've decided on the 15x6 DC wheel. Anyone else have input?
