A friend of mine from my home town of Galatia IL asked me to go on a trip with him to a town south of Louisville KY. I believe the town is Hodgenville Ky. We were on the search for a 1969 Impala SS 427. We found a very decent car with documentation . It was an Impala Custom with the original engine and automatic transmission. It was missing the original intake and carb . For some reason it was missing the bucket seats and the lower rear seat . The console was there and in the trunk was what I believe the original hub caps. The plan is to restore it to original. The color is silver with a black vinyl top . It also had the AM FM radio . It had the wood style steering wheel. The car also had power steering . I noticed it was a Janesville car . The engine pad was stamped T0327 LI with the partial vin. I really enjoyed the part when they were going back and forth on a final price for the car. This is the second time that I have been fortunate enough to go on an adventure with someone to purchase a 69 Impala SS . The first time was a few years ago when Mack Yarbrough and I went to Loraine Ohio to purchase and pick up his car. My 2nd great car adventure. John

I remember that adventure like it was yesterday John especially the snow storm we drove through getting my Impala from Ohio to Illinois.
Thanks to this site and our friend Louie I found the car just like the one I had in the late 70's and thanks to you John we got it back here in one piece to begin the long process of bringing it back from the barn death.
You can still see the snow on the front of the car when we finally made it to my shop.
