New to Site

I thought I would introduce myself to this site,have me a member for a while.I live just outside of Woodstock Ontario. I have 2 1969 Biscaynes, one has a 327cid,powerglide, the other one is going to have a 427,4 speed.I am not sure how to post pictures, will put some up when I figure it out. I know a few of the members on this site. There certainly is a wealth of knowledge here. Geof

Welcome to the site, always great to have another Biscayne guy. Mine is a tribute '68 L72 4 speed car. Looking forward to seeing what you do with yours.

Welcome to the site. I have friends in Woodstock but grew up in Ancaster. Toronto has been home for over 30 years though.

So, are those Biscaynes Oshawa-built? I remember a few around in Ancaster, including a Frost Green L36 car sold new at Maurice Carter Chev-Olds in Hamilton. I think it belongs to someone in Brantford.

Thanks Cam, the blue car was built in Wilmington Deleware, the green one in Doraville Georgia. The frost green car belongs to a friend of mine from Brantford, he bought it new in 1969.Where abouts in Toronto are you.

Geoffrey, I am in the far east of T.O., Port Union near the lake.

Your Dusk Blue car looks like one that was in Ancaster until probably around 1979, except that one had wheel covers and an STP sticker on the back bumper. It also wasn't in as nice shape as yours.

Your friend owns the Frost Green 427 2-door from Brantford? I remember seeing that car around probably around 1973-ish time frame, rolling on 5-spoke Appliance Mags. I remember seeing it repainted in a generic apple green circa 1976. It is wonderful to hear the car is still around. Way too many have vanished over time.

I also remember seeing a black version of that 427 car in Ancaster at a body shop at Trinity Road (Highways 2 / 403 / 52) around 1980. I kinda assumed it was the old green car since 427 Biscaynes were rare. It had the factory bench but an aftermarket mini console with an automatic floor shift (I had seen that item in a 1970 Parkdale High Performance catalogue). It also had the floor shift collar in the steering column.

You know, I remember seeing a 69 Biscayne 2-door in the early 70s that was driven by an elderly white-haired lady. It had a 327 and was Cortez Silver with a Burgundy 2-tone on the roof, a factory combo in Canada. It looked good in that combo. I tried to Photoshop a picture into that combo, and discovered that it really pops with a set of redline tires.

Cam, my blue car came from Maryland, My friend from Brantford didn't have his car painted, it is all original, even has the original wiper blades. It is the one that has the dents in the trunk lid.I don't think I have ever seen a black Biscayne around before. I had one back in the early seventies, 427/390hp,4speed, fathom green, green interior. I am still trying to track that car down, chances are pretty slim I think. That silver with burgandy sounds like a nice color combo.If your ever down Woodstock way be sure to give me a call.

Hmmm, the Brantford car has original paint? Then that means there must have been another Frost Green 427 Biscayne in the area!. I grew up midway between Hamilton & Brantford (Ancaster is more like the edge of Hamilton). What are the odds?

I also remember a 1969 XL GT Sportsroof with a 429 in town. It was black with gold C-stripes. The owner ran baby moons on it and chrome exhaust extensions. I last saw that one in 1973.

I also recall a 69 SS427 Impala Custom Coupe in town, Cortez Silver with red buckets & F41. It had a TH400 & Rally Wheels. An occasional sighting in Ancaster since I moved into the village proper in 1970, I last saw it in 1977 at Didero's Texaco getting an overhaul.
