Thermostat housing to manifold seal seeping coolant

I am having a small seeping of coolant where the stat housing mates with the intake manifold. I want to do this repair once. Anyone have an opinion on a repair that will look good and have a great seal? Thanks much for your time. Mike L.

Mike,

Years ago I switched to a thermostat housing that was designed with an o-ring as the seal rather than a gasket. Looks just like the 'original'. Never had a problem. It's on my '68 Z24.

Be sure your stat housing is perfectly flat on the bottom . I took mine to a machine shop and in a few minutes they sanded the stat bottom perfectly flat . Mine has not leaked since .
