saw this while browsing today, thought some might find it interesting. it's 67 SS put out to pasture, and it looks like it has the D-96 side stripes. Looks like a non SS427 car, so did it come that way from the factory? i've read only SS427 cars came with them from the factory. hmmmm.

Trim tag shows mountain green, so the paint & stripe appear to be original. The assembly manual for D96 has a rev 1 stating 16867-87 styles were removed in Feb of 1967. Good catch.

I'm looking at my assembly manual for my '68 Z24. It too initially had optional paint stripes under the lower crease line for styles 16447-67-87. It was canceled before production (I think)...8/5/67.

According to Sessler's muscle car red book, only 200 customers selected this option in 1967. No surprise it was cancelled for '68.
