Wheel opening mouldings

Can anyone comment on 69 Impala Wheel opening moldings they have purchased? Can you recommend a supplier you were happy with? Thanks.

Bought mine from Donny. NOS and fit perfectly. Very happy with description of parts and parts when they arrived.

Time, the Repro ones are complete trash in my opinion. Sorry Nick. The fit terribly, and are dead soft. Flick them with your finger and they dent. They are not made from annealed aluminum, they are dead soft Corvex material.

Like all repo parts,I assumed they would be far from NOS,,but what options ,other than repo,do you have for this or any parts unavailable when restoring. Some have stated a drug addiction would be cheaper than restoring a car,,,

I bought a set from Tamraz. They almost fit perfectly. They look good. I put them on My NOS fenders, yet to put them on My NOS quarters. I still have My originals. NICK L72

I did not know that You bought a 1971 Big Boat. I remember when they came out. Easy to work on with all the engine bay room. Too big a car for a Chevrolet. The emissions got to Chevrolet and all the other manufacturers. At least the Chevelle had 2 years. NICK L72

A "Baby Cadillac" Nick. It's like riding your living room sofa. I took it on a 4000 mile trip,2015 Power Tour,and was amazed how nice it drives.The 71 chassis change was really a significant and positive upgrade.

It was fine, but the body was so good I couldn't help myself. It had a minor driveshaft issue which was easy to fix. I will send photos after I detail the car! You know how it goes. As I write it has 18,925 miles on it. This car must have had strange history? You can still see the ad on the net when it was up for sale in Maryland!

Emil, I'm a huge fan of straight six cars and that's a really nice one. That colour is great and I'm glad you persevered with the photo up-load issue on here and eventually got some photos posted for all to see ... Cheers Glenn

Not sure about the 69, but the 67 type I have seen are soft, some moldings aftermarket are pretty good for 67's, like the eye brow moldings are descent, it is still rigid and color is good where like the hockey stick moldings feels like putty if that makes sense? You can bend them to fit, but the bent is noticeable..... I am not sure if it's the manufacturers or they haven't got the angles down yet? Have not seen the lower trunk or hood moldings for the 67's cause I don't need them, so for the hockey sticks I sent the moldings out and had them re-anodized,(much better).
If NOS not available, after spending that kind of money on a restoration, I would have old ones straightened / re-anodized, I think in the long run, you won't like the a/m wheel openings, May also depend what you plan on doing with the car maybe? driving it or trailering it? Only you can decide if your happy with them once they are on, and if you go back to originals do the screw holes line up?
