I too have Competition Hooker Headers for my '68 Z24, and they're great! They are wrapped to keep the heat in. Keep in mind, however, that the tubing is 2" with 3-1/2" collectors (at least mine are). That might be too big a diameter for even a 427 unless your engine is somewhat modified.

I looked on Ebay and found a stainless pair for My 69 SS427 Impala with free shipping and a good reputation. They list the different combinations they fit. Mine fit perfect and were at a reasonable price. My Son used to work for Pypes exhaust and sold stainless headers or had them coated. NICK L72427impalasportcoupe

I have Hooker Competition headers on my '68 with big block 4 speed and they fit excellent. The part number is 2457. Chad

I also have always been a fan of Hooker headers.

Thanks to all for responding. I have ordered a set of Hooker's and should have them next week. Will do a test fit before I send them to be ceramic coated. thanks again

Let us know how it goes. Because I put on factory power steering, I have a very close fit with the tube that is near the PS box, but it does clear. No problem with the 4-speed.
Will the ceramic coating be on both the inside and outside? My headers are not coated (but have an outside insulation wrap)...been installed for 30-plus years. They get hot real fast so there has never been a condensation problem.
