One of the few shows that wasn't cancelled this year. I have really enjoyed driving my car again with the fresh engine rebuild. The interior will be done in a couple weeks.They limited it to 2000 cars. I did see entry numbers with over a 2000 number. Every one was wearing masks.
Damn. That looks like My car, except I have My PUI seat covers on and a new paint job. Was that Your Father's car? I'm going to be 75 years old and 22 years old when I ordered mine. I still feel like I did when I got mine. An 80's steering wheel and a few mods with Sun tach. Mine used to slam when I put it in reverse, now I mounted it over the top collar with a hose clamp, mounted above the ignition switch. It needs a black grille. Keep driving and enjoying it. My Dad bought if when I was a Junior in High School(1985). I drove through High School, parked in in 1988-89. I got it out of storage about 5 years ago. I got it running and took my dad out for one last ride. I drove it pretty hard when I was in High School. A couple clutches, sets of tires. Life happens, my kids are grown now. Its time to get it all done. Just had the engine rebuilt, already have over 700 miles on it. The interior will be done with in the next month. Hopefully fresh paint early next year.

Awesome story!!!! I love it. My favorite number is 69 for many reasons. My car was driven hard, that is what they were built for. I broke 3 speedometers over 120 mph. One strip run and a lot of street racing, including a lot of traffic light starts. I won most races, against Hemis, Fords, and other Chevrolets. 327 Corvettes were hard to beat and LS6 Chevelles. I parked the L72 and installed a worked 365 horse 327. That engine would wind. I wore that out and installed a 235 hp 327 during the gas crunch. 327 died and installed a 307. A lot of memories, 1969 Daytona race, Met My Wife to be, Wedding car, and family car. The body was really shook and a lot of body work. L72 rebuilt and ready to go back in, over 500 hp now. My Son will get the car and carry on the tradition, but now He will only get to drive it. He has a lead foot like Me. I hope to meet You. NICK L72427impalasportcoupe
Hey Dennis, neat back-story you have there about your dad and the car ... I love these cars that come with a good story ... To have a build sheet is great, but a build sheet is just a birth certificate, what your car comes with is it's life story ... Don't ever sell it ... Cheers Glenn
